and their Teachers/Parents
What
is assistive computer technology?
Computer
hardware and/or software that is used to increase, maintain, or improve
functional capabilities of an individual with a disability.
How
can Computer Generations help with assistive computer technology needs?
If a student's IEP recommends assistive computer technology Computer
Generations instructors can provide the essential computer training
for the individual student and the knowledge of how to integrate these
skills into the classroom. Computer Generations has researched various
computer hardware devices and pieces of software designed to help individuals
with disabilities. Our instructors are trained to teach individuals
with disabilities and their teachers and parents.

Dear Debra.
I would
like to thank you and your firm. especially Maureen and Donna for an
outstanding job you have done in helping Diane attain many computer
skills.
Diane's
last five years of school programs have been departmentalized, which
has left her with unique demands from many different teachers. Since
her handwriting and processing skills our delayed, this situation has
left her frustrated. Our High School has very limited instruction on
computers and how they can be integrated with all subject matters. Half
way into Diane Sophomore year she announced that she wanted to drop
out, at that point the school district brought your firm in to help
her.
Computer
instruction started in March until this date, since then Diane has made
a remarkable change in her approach to school. She feels more confident
to attack new situations and is willing to stick with it for an extensive
period of time. Doing her written work on the computer has been less
fatiguing for her. She has taken on more responsibility of her work
and is becoming more academically independent.
Diane's
self esteem has also elevated and has also started her in becoming social
independent. In June, Diane made a very important decision, which was
to use an electric scooter for her physical independents. I believe
the confidences you gave her this year helped her make this important
decision. She is looking forward to receiving more computer instruction
from your firm in her Junior year. She knows that you can help in her
academic areas, especially her new Marketing course. She feels her future
is brighter now because she will be able to function in a computer related
career.
